Martijn

Martijn presents as graphite-black, with vast graphite deserts studded with mineral deposits. Surface temperatures range from 50 to 400°C at 1.1 atm, with rare crystallisation storms forming mineral fields across the lowlands. At 10,914 km across, the surface material is primarily carbon-rich organic layers formed from reduced atmospheric chemistry. If the diamond-bearing mantle models are correct, the interior of Martijn contains more compressed carbon than any known rocky body in this sector.
