J83 presents as tan and rust-red, with persistent banding across the upper atmosphere, with 5 moons spanning a wide range of orbital distances. Two concentric ring bands of differing opacity surround the planet, the inner one denser and more sharply edged than the outer diffuse halo. Atmospheric temperatures range from -150 to 80°C across cloud layers at 1.1 atm, with ammonia crystal precipitation forming layer-spanning haze. At 73,920 km in diameter, its bulk is composed of a rocky or icy core estimated at several Earth masses, buried beneath thousands of kilometres of gas. Its ring system is composed of debris in a stable resonance orbit. Age uncertain; origin unclear — collision, tidal disruption, or something older.
