Listening for transmissions…

Echo as much as you like. The order is the plainest one there is: the most-echoed signal is first.

rank = echoes, highest first

Ties break by the most recent echo, and then by the oldest transmission — so a dead heat goes to the signal still being heard, and a true dead heat to whoever got there first. Totals are shown raw and unrounded: the number on a card is the whole reason it sits where it does. This replaced a weighted formula that also counted how many people echoed and how recently — honest arithmetic, but nothing on a card could show it, so the order looked wrong to everyone who checked it.
