Marsas presents as tan and rust-red, with layered cloud decks of ammonia ice and sulphur, with 14 moons spanning a wide range of orbital distances. The rings show banding consistent with orbital resonances — gaps occur at positions where ring particles would complete exactly two orbits for every three of the nearest large moon. It is not alone — a smaller twin world hangs in its sky, close enough to chart by eye. Atmospheric temperatures range from -150 to 80°C across cloud layers at 92 atm, with anticyclonic storms maintained for thousands of years. At 50,559 km in diameter, its bulk is composed of sulphur compounds and phosphine in the upper cloud layers. The ring system, viewed from the nearest orbital approach, would span a significant arc of the sky — composed of debris in a resonance orbit of uncertain age.
